Visiting an old friend

Several years ago, I jumped neck deep in the creation and subsequent marketing of an invention, the beverage CADDi. I gave it all I had. I didn't have the right stuff. I totally enjoyed the process of creation and working out issues with manufacturers (ok, enjoyed is a strong word, but it was absorbing, challenging and intriguing). I really did enjoy creating marketing mateirals. What I had no knack or desire for was the art of selling and it's all rather moot without that final keystone.

By the time I'd gotten the CADDi created and to a couple of trade shows I was a few years into the process. My ridiculously expensive patent application was rejected due to the CADDi being too similar to something else (they showed the item - entirely unrelated. Seriously - what were they thinking?) Tired, and spent, both physically and financially, I still pushed through, but kept coming up against the wall of my near panic when it came to sales. It had become all about numbers, inventory and cold calls - no joy, no personal return.

I gave myself permission to set it all aside for awhile. The website no longer exists. For all practical purposes, I'm not in business with the CADDi any more. The problem is this:
I still think it's a good idea. I use my CADDi all the time.

So, it's still burbling despite me. I still have inventory. I'd still like to see it come to life. At a minimum, I'd like to find a home for those in storage.

So, we'll see where it does or doesn't lead. I'm in no hurry. I have no agenda.
